National Lemonade Day is August 20th and we have some boozy recipes to help you celebrate the end of summer. Representing all the different types of alcohol you are sure to find a recipe to your taste. Cheers!
Tito’s Vodka Lonestar Lemonade
1 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
1 oz limoncello
1 oz sweet and sour mix
1/2 oz agave nectar
2 lemon wedges
Fill a mixing glass to the rim with ice. Add Tito’s Handmade Vodka, limoncello and sweet and sour mix. Squeeze one lemon wedge into mixing glass and then discard. Shake three times and pour into a sugar rimmed Poco Grande glass.
Pimm’s No. 1 Lemonade
Ice to fill the jug
Strawberries,washed, hulled and halved
For an easy and delicious British summer cocktail take a jug or pitcher and fill it with ice.
Mix one part Pimm’s No. 1 with 3 parts chilled lemonade. Add the mint, cucumber, orange and strawberry. Stir and serve.
St. Germain Strawberry Lemonade
1 ounce St. Germain
1 ounce Lemon juice
1 ounce Simple Syrup
1 ounce Grey Goose Vodka
In a glass muddle strawberries together with lemon juice and simple syrup. Add Grey Goose vodka and St. Germain and stir. Fill glass with crushed ice and top with club soda.
Bourbon Thyme Lemonade
Thyme Simple Syrup* (recipe below)
Thyme for garnish
Lemon peel for garnish
Combine 2 oz bourbon, 1 oz of thyme simple syrup, a drizzle or two of honey, mix and top with sparkling lemonade.
*Thyme Simple Syrup
1 cup turbinado sugar
1 cup water
12 sprigs of thyme
Combine 1 cup turbinado sugar with 1 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and add thyme sprigs.
Jack Daniel’s Lynchburg Lemonade
1 part Jack Daniel’s® Tennessee whiskey
1 part sweet and sour mix
1 part triple sec
4 parts Sprite® soda
Add ice and stir. Garnish with lemon slices and cherries.
Simple Summer Shandy
Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
IPA of your choice.
Pour equal parts lemonade halfway up a pint glass and top with IPA. Garish with a lemon and serve.
6 ozs Patron Tequila
3 ozs triple sec
1 oz frozen lemonade concentrate (or lemon simple syrup, see recipe below)
1 cup strawberries
2 cups crushed ice
1 sprig mint
In blender, combine all ingredients except garnish. Add ice as needed to make slushy consistency. Wet the lip of margarita glasses and dip in sugar. Divide mixture between glasses and garnish with lemon wedge and sprig of mint.
