Larceny Old Fitzgerald Very Special Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey; abv 46%; suggested retail price $25. Pretty deep amber color; minor sediment seen under the examination lamp – inconsequential. Toasty, round, intensely grainy and supple first aromatics notes greet you right after the pour; seven more minutes of air contact release subtle scents of cocoa bean, cigar box and pipe tobacco; a comely bouquet. Entry is hugely chunky, bacon fat-like and honeyed; midpalate focuses tightly on sweetened breakfast cereal (honey-flavored cereal, to be precise), caramel corn, cigarette ash and tobacco. No wallflower, this attractive, demonstrative whiskey carries forward the marvelous tradition of Old Fitzgerald with panache. Remarkable value for money. Rating: 5 stars/Highest Recommendation
