Toasted White Cranberry Get Drunk Not Fat: Low Calorie Holiday Cocktails Ok, so its been a few weeks since Turkey Day, and my stomach still hasn’t gone done to its normal size. With Christmas right around the corner, doesn’t look like my insides are gonna get a chance to fully recover. I can’t complain though, Lori put it down in the kitchen, making a feast fit for a king, hell two kings. But, January 2nd will be here soon, and then reality will set in that my gut is becoming a problem. I wont go crazy in the gym, but I will attempt to go back to a somewhat healthy routine.

Seriously though, I’ll never be confused with a health nut, diet freak, or one of those “cross fit” people. I like to eat, I like to drink, and for the most part, I believe anything can be consumed, as long as it’s in moderation. Slice of cake: good, slice of cake every day: bad. Whiskey: good, finishing an entire bottle in one sitting: bad. Catch my drift? So when people try and pass off foods and drinks that are known to be a little fatty, in a diet form, I usually laugh. Perfect example: Satisfries from Burger King… Really? When I want fried potatoes, I know what to expect, and that’s why I don’t order them 3 times a day, 7 days a week. The same can be said for alcoholic drinks. Bacardi had a HORRIBLE experiment with their Island Breeze line years ago. Diet rum, with half the calories. I bet they didn’t know their sales would be dieting too. With drinks, either you accept they can be fatty, or you stop adding all those colored high fructose corn syrups to the drink and enjoy it neat/straight.

I’m not gonna nag you for wanting to drink skinny, but I may give you a side eye. So If you MUST count the calories when drinking, then their are a few simple substitutions you can make. Diet pop instead of regular, low calorie or zero calorie sweeteners instead of sugar, and my favorite, fresh fruit juice instead of the store bought, processed, sugary stuff.
