If you're looking for the perfect spooky cocktail, this is it. The Potion de Muerto combines Hornitos® Black Barrel tequila, which is aged 18 months in three separate American oak barrels, with beet juice (among other ingredients) and crushed ice to appear as if there’s blood dripping throughout the drink. How perfect is that?!
- 2 oz Hornitos Black Barrel tequila
- 1/2 oz beet juice
- 3/4 oz fresh orange juice
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz agave syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
Combine all the ingredients except beet juice in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into a highball glass over crushed ice.
Slowly float the beet juice over the ice, allowing the beet juice to make its way down the glass and appear as if blood is dripping through the drink.
Garnish with an orange slice.
