Inspired by a traditional Aperol Spritz, the "Puttin' on the Spritz' features Aperol, Amaro, Lemon Shrub, and Hard Cider. Similar to the way olives have been used to balance out the bitterness of the Aperol, our housemade HUSK Lemon Shrub (made from a combination of vinegar, salt, and sugar) serves a similar role in the overall flavor profile of this cocktail.
Always looking to convey a sense of place with my cocktails, I chose a Southern hard cider for the sparkling component, rather than the traditional wine.
Puttin' on the Spritz
- 1 oz Aperol
- 0.5 oz Montenegro Amaro
- 0.5 oz HUSK Lemon Shrub
- Bull City Off Main Cider
- 1 Orange Wedge, squeezed and dropped in
Combine all ingredients over ice in a snifter or wine glass. Top with Bull City Off Main cider, or other dry hard cider of your choice. Garnish with an orange wedge, squeezed and dropped in.
