Memorial Day weekend finally here and is the unofficial start to summer!
The days start getting longer, the weather gets warmer, and it only seems appropriate to start firing up the grill. If you’re planning a barbecue (or three) over the long weekend, here are some cocktails to help you chill out. These drinks are easy to make both individually or as batch cocktails, making them the perfect easy-to-share addition to any summer celebration. One taste and you’ll be sipping on these all summer!
Benham’s Summer Southside
- 2 oz Benham’s Gin
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 6-8 fresh mint leaves
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously. Double strain and serve in a coupe. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Morphing Sapporo Summer Shandy
- 1 can Sapporo Premium Beer
- 4 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz. simple syrup (3 for a sweeter cocktail)
- Raspberry ice cubes*
Add raspberry ice cubes, lemon juice and simple syrup to pint glass or beer mug. Top with Sapporo and gently stir with a bar spoon.
*Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of fresh raspberries to a pot of water and bring to a boil. Once the water begins to boil, turn heat to a simmer and let steep 15-20 minutes or until raspberries begin to lose their color. Strain the raspberries and fill ice cube tray with flavored water. Freeze until solid.
The Disaronno® Fizz
- 2 oz Disaronno®
- 4 oz soda/sparkling water
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- Lemon slice, for garnish
Pour ingredients over ice and gently stir. Garnish with a lemon slice.
- 2 oz Partida Blanco Tequila
- ¼ oz lime juice
- Grapefruit soda (Squirt or Jarritos)
- Pinch of salt
- Lime wheel, for garnish
Build Partida, lime juice, and salt in a highball glass. Top with soda and stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with a lime wheel.
- 1.75 oz Chase Smoked Vodka
- .75 oz Lemon Juice
- Dash of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
- Dash of Tabasco
- 4 oz Fresh Tomato Juice
- Celery Salt
Build all ingredients over ice. Garnish with a stick of celery and a slice of lemon.
