Well, by now the world knows the news. Prince Harry has officially married Meghan Markle. That means the world's favorite ginger is no longer single. In other words, my last viable chance to marry into the royal family has been dashed. Sure, I'm already happily married with child, but that's beside the point. As long as Harry roamed the wild, me and countless other 30-something women (and men) around the world held onto a glimmer of royal hope. Crushed are my dreams of donning a bejeweled crown as I tirelessly waved to the adoring masses. Is it too much to ask for a scepter and a real estate portfolio filled with castles?! But fret not, my forlorn friends! For there is one ginger that is still on the market. Barrow's Intense Ginger Liqueur. And let's be honest, a stiff drink right now doesn't sound too shabby. So to commemorate today's royal wedding, I have created a cocktail to drown out the cries of our broken hearts. Let's woo the remaining available red head in the room. This is The Last Ginger, Royal Wedding Cocktail Edition!
The Last Ginger
Prep Time: 34 years; Yields: 1 pathetically alone drink (castle not included)
- 1 ounce of Barrow's Intense Ginger Liqueur
- 1 ounce of cucumber vodka
- 1/2 ounce of simple syrup
- Carrot juice
- Garnish: Sliced cucumbers and spinster tears.
- Add the Barrow's Intense Ginger Liqueur, cucumber vodka, and simple syrup to a Collin's glass.
- Top off with carrot juice and garnish with cucumber slices. Enjoy!
I wish the bride and groom blessings, may a thousand nightingales serenade them with song, will the ghosts of royal ancestry past rise from the grave to give them a tour of Kensington Palace... yada, yada, yada. Alright, let's drink already. Cheers!
