DrinkWire is Liquor.com’s showcase for the best articles, recipes and reviews from the web’s top writers and bloggers. In this post, Melissa Moreno offers a bourbon cocktail

Basil Hayden’s Bourbon is a classic go-to option as we dive into cooler weather.

As you may know, Basil Hayden’s Bourbon is aged and bottled at 80 proof, and made with twice as much rye as typical bourbons, giving it a unique spiciness that works perfectly with the flavors of fall. We recommend sipping it neat, on the rocks, or as the base to a modern twist on a classic cocktail, like the Basil Hayden’s Harvest Sour or Basil Hayden’s Fall Shandy – both made by top Chicago mixologist Scott Lobianco. These cocktails feature ingredients like cinnamon and IPA beer that compliment the smooth spiciness of Basil Hayden’s, a great way to welcome “bourbon season” with friends and family.
