Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades ReviewEdit Post

Three readers love this post.
Well over a year before the production version hit the shelves I got to try a sample and it was good, but the final production output of the Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades surpasses that sample in many ways. It’s all around a richer more delicious and deep spirit than before; I’m glad I decided to pick up a bottle and gave it a second try.
The distillery quote below covers the nitty-gritty details, but in a nut-shell, Eddie took stock of the array of barrels in the warehouses and picked a bunch ranging from 10 – 20 years in age. Some of the ones aged for 20 years come from the same stock of stone and wood aged barrels as the incredible Russell’s 98. So it’s a crazy mix in more ways than one.
Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades Review: Details and Tasting Notes
In Wild Turkey’s Words: Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades
“This hand-selected lot of precious and rare barrels, aged between 10 and 20 years, represents the very best of two decades of bourbon making. Master Distiller Eddie Russell’s harmonious mingling of liquid results in an extraordinarily enjoyable whiskey with the finesse and deep character of older bourbon, anchored by the bold, balanced, and vibrant backbone of younger bourbon.”

Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades Review: OVERALL
Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Decades has to be the spiciest Wild Turkey I’ve ever had. It’s also interesting to see how the actual release differs form pre-release I got to try nearly a year before this hit the market. It’s odd that they’d be so different, but as I sip on this and read my old notes and think back to that sample I definitely feel like I’m having different experiences.
The production release has an aroma that’s big and bold, it’s in your face with the spice. The palate follows suit and delivers a solid bourbon punch that hangs heavy through the finish. There’s no way around it, this a great bourbon and highly recommended for Wild Turkey fans and bourbon lovers alike.
