Your Guide To Labor Day In NYC

As sad as we are that summer is coming to an end, we're pretty thrilled that we get a three day weekend. If you're in the city this weekend, not to worry, there's enough going on to make you feel like you escaped NYC for a mini-vacation.

This Sunday take a day trip to Jamaica... er, Avenue C as Evelyn Drinkery will kick off their 'Ease Up Sundays' e vent. Enjoy Appleton Rum cocktails and island refreshments from 2pm-8pm while grooving to some Island Soul Rhythms.

On Sunday night, head to raucous Lower East Side restaurant/town hall Sons of Essex for a Pig Roast so you can feast and drink in excess without worrying about having to go to work the next day! Get a plate of slow-cooked pork, two Southern-inspired sides and a draft beer for just $30!!

If you're out in Brooklyn celebrate the 2nd Birthday of Industry City Distillery by toasting to their accomplishments in producing Industry Standard Vodka. Enjoy Industry Standard Cocktails, bands, food and more while partying on an awesome rooftop in Sunset Park. CLICK HERE for tickets & more information.

On Monday ONLY Black Hound Bar & Lounge, right near the Hudson in Battery Park City, will be serving up The Drunken Watermelon: a gin based cocktail with basil served in a hollowed out watermelon. Order it in couples size for $18 or party size (4-6 people) for $36. It’s a sophisticated version of a summer party favorite. They will also be serving Maryland Blue Crab Sliders and Maine Lobster Rolls so take a trip to the NYC waterfront and savor the beachy cuisine.
